In 2012 JSC RAO Energy systems of the East announced the launch of the program for realization of RES projects in the Far East of Russia. The core of this program is successful operation of the series of renewable energy pilot facilities, which proved the main thing: it is properly here, in the isolated settlements remote from infrastructure that RES can be economically efficient today.

Year 2013 became a starting point for RES in the region. The initiative of energy workers was supported by head officials of several constituent parts of the Russian Federation who signed agreements on the development of renewable energy. In fact the infrastructure was formed for the market of RES projects of the Far East and High North.

The First International Conference on Renewable Energy in isolated systems of the Far East of Russia which took place on June 27-29, 2013 in Yakutsk was attended by more than 200 participants representing 75 companies from Russia and foreign countries. The conference gave an impetus to a series of projects on cooperation between authorities of the Far East, energy companies and energy equipment producers.

Vast majority of the conference participants spoke for continuation of the meeting in Yakutsk each summer.

In June 2016 the Conference will take place for the fourth time.
